“DANCE FILMED” is series of static wide angle videos, re-filmed from a mobile-device in a “Vertigo Shot”.

All rehearsals and performances of my work are filmed from a static wide angle (with an action camera) for archive purposes. While it frames the overall event very nicely, it washes out the viewer’s natural ability to move and focus their attention to certain specific parts or aspects. In “DANCE FILMED” I aim to recreate that movement, using a mobile device to re-film a static wide angle as a “Vertigo Shot” where the camera position and focal length of the lens are simultaneously altered.
